--- Comment #17 from Nicolas Mailhot <[email protected]> --- Cantarell VF is the variable version of Cantarell, it does not use exactly the same metadata mechanisms as the non variable files (that’s another reason it is dangerous to rely on metadata mechanisms available in static faces but not their equivalent, variable instances, because the OpenType spec clearly envisions using variable instances as direct static replacements in the future). Anyway, a lot of things were broken in fontconfig’s handling of variable instances, a lot (but not all of them) have been fixed upstream, but the result is not available in Fedora yet (even on my Fedora 33 system). If you want to test variable handling you should ask Akira for a fontconfig package containing his latest variable fixes. Right now IIRC variable instance naming should be fixed upstream, but axis values are completely broken and inconsistent between variable instances and static faces. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug. _______________________________________________ fonts-bugs mailing list -- [email protected] To unsubscribe send an email to [email protected] Fedora Code of Conduct: https://docs.fedoraproject.org/en-US/project/code-of-conduct/ List Guidelines: https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Mailing_list_guidelines List Archives: https://lists.fedoraproject.org/archives/list/[email protected]
