Who maintains xc/extras/fonts? I'd like to recommend one other Unicode font, a BDF that includes glyphs for a large subset of CJK and comes in a complete set of bold/italic variants at 10, 12, 14, 16, and 24 point sizes.
See http://openlab.ring.gr.jp/efont/index.html.en for details on it, and specifically http://openlab.ring.gr.jp/efont/unicode/list.html for the supported Unicode ranges. I'm sure they'd be happy to allow XFree86 to include and distribute their work, since the people involved seem interested in open source. Thought I'd share... 'james -- James A.
