[SIGH] A homogenous compile of suse's 4.2.0-61 rpm with ft2 backend compiled instead of the ft1 backend still segfaults when rendering most scalable fonts. Cff otf fonts fail instead with a cannot load /foo/bar/baz.otf error, but do not kill the server.
The only patch in suse's srpm that looks relevant is the addition of ref counting to the module loading routines.
