Yes, it might.  The existing file formats are designed to be extensible 
enough so that when we find a case where it would be useful, we can add 
the information without affecting forward or backward compatibility.

The basic idea would be to take incoming patterns for available fonts and 
run them through the pattern editing mechanism using a new target.

My hope is that it won't every be necessary; I'd rather automatically 
extract all of the necessary information as this will be less prone to 
user error.
