I've been a J-Edit (www.jedit.org) addict for over a
year now (although I doubt it's as good as Eclipse),
from a J-Edit text buffer: right-click, choose "Soft
(emulated with spaces) Tab" option.

But I doubt this issue warrants switching editors...
