The Saxon XSLT processor (http://saxon.sourceforge.net) has
a -t command line switch for doing exactly this. Other
processors usually provide similar functionality, look it
up in the respective documentation. If you invoke the processor
from a java program and want to measure execution time, look
up System.currentTimeMillis() in the standard Java API
documentation.
