FOP is written in Java and Java uses UNICODE for characters. I know better than to suggest that EBCDIC won't be problematic but in theory it's not supposed to be a problem. Although it's been a while since I served on a battleship ;-) I understand that Big Blue now provide Linux on the Operating Systems formerly known as MVS and/or VM.
