Thanks for the follow up! Is there any chance you can send me an example of post-processing the PS output? I'll admit I haven't looked into it in too much detail yet, but any time savings here are much appreciated.

I doubt that a FOP extension provides the right hooks into PS output to
do tray control. IMO the only current options are to modify the PS
renderer itself or post-processing the generated PostScript (which I
have done myself and which is fast and not that difficult). When I wrote
the PS renderer I paid attention that post-processing would be easy
(using DSC comments).
My long term wish list contains PPD support for the PS renderer which
will also include extension to XSL-FO that will allow you to control PS
generation in a more detailed way.
