Indeed: (1) the cell containing "Descrizione" only has border-bottom specified; (2) the cell on the right has no border specified; (3) the cell below has only border-left; (4) the cell to the right of the cell below has border-left and border-right. So the empty table corners are due to the missing border-bottom of the cell (2). The horizontal border below "Descrizione" corresponds to the border-bottom of cell (1). The "border-right" of the visible frame actually corresponds to the border-left of cell (4). etc. Therefore What You See Is What You Asked For, but perhaps not What You Wanted...
