Actually, this IS a bug. The PDF specification is pretty clear about the encodings on symbolic fonts. I seem to have missed this as this only affects text extraction but not the display. I've just fixed it in the 0.95 branch: http://svn.apache.org/viewvc?rev=649006&view=rev
