If you want to try to fix the problem yourself, you'll need to set up FOP in your IDE: http://wiki.apache.org/xmlgraphics-fop/FOPIDESetupGuide For the AFP borders, it's probably best to start setting break points in org.apache.fop.afp.AFPBorderPainter.
