Hi Matthias, What operating system are you using? Also, are you using a configuring FOP in any way with a fop.xconf? What is your output format? This makes a bit of a difference since, for example, the way fonts are handled varies between different formats. And from poking around in the fonts packages, they can be very resource hungry.
