The complex script support will support each of the Indic scripts, but each script needs some script-specific code to be written to handle syllable segmentation. At present, this is already done for Devanagari, Gujarati, and Gurmukhi, and remains to be done for the other Indic scripts such as Tamil, Telugu, etc. I have created an umbrella issue for adding Telugu support at [1].
