To further elaborate: This is the first "bare bootstrap" we have done since rPath first imported RHEL4. All other bootstraps have been against the closest matching import already previously done. That old import wasn't documented since it wasn't expected to ever need to be repeated, and indeed documentation wouldn't have helped much since the tools have changed in the meantime. Also, we're doing things somewhat differently based on the intervening years of experience.
