it looks like we are soon at a point where people can start adopting fedora installations (i'll get one ready for myself very this week i hope) so in this context i'd like to ask how would one go about importing additional packages that are not in the official fedora repo.
would i run mirrorball on my own machine importing the desired packages into my own repo on an appropriate label? i am interested in this issue in particular because of olpc who remix fedora with their own packages but don't support fedora updates. (that is the olpc packages only work with fedora as released, and running yum update potentially breaks the system.) running conary on the olpc machines would allow to mitigate such breakage thanks to rollbacks and groups which allow installing additional packages with out causing other packages to be updated. greetings, martin. -- eKita - the online platform for your entire academic life hackerspace beijing - http://qike.info -- chief engineer eKita.co pike programmer pike.lysator.liu.se caudium.net foresight developer realss.com foresightlinux.org unix sysadmin trainer developer societyserver.org Martin Bähr working in china http://societyserver.org/mbaehr/ _______________________________________________ Foresight-devel mailing list [email protected] https://lists.foresightlinux.org/mailman/listinfo/foresight-devel
