Hi folks, Now that I am wearing the Community Manager hat gently handed down from Paul to me, I'd really like to start a thread to discuss about branding, image and marketing. Let me explain what I mean: Some distributions and even platforms can be sometimes summarized by "solving" a very specific "problem" for a specific target audience or to fill a niche. Ubuntu Studio for instance would be a distribution that you'd probably want to recommend for someone who is into music recording, track cutting, and what not. Gentoo is something you'd recommend for someone with suicidal tendencies, and so on and so forth. :)
So, who is our target audience? What niche do we fill? For the distribution connoisseur out there, where do we fit? I have a pretty good idea of where we fit but I'd like to hear your comments before I spill the beans! :) I look forward to your replies, and have a great weekend! -- Og B.
