The people who have told me that they volunteer to work on boots have not predicated their involvement on boots being a Foresight project. The question here isn't whether boots happens, it's whether Foresight adopts it as a sub-project. While I appreciate the reality of this concern (I too have limited time), I also think that in reality it is a red herring -- the real question is not about the amount of contributor time available, but whether boots has more value to Foresight as a sub-project (in an organizational sense) or as a completely independent project.
