could these be combined into one even larger machine? (say a dual-quad-core with 32GB or ram (or even more) or is that not enough cpu then? > 16GB, dual-quad-core systems with decent disk: > 2-3 rMake build nodes (RAID0) > 8GB, quad-core systems with decent disk: > 3-4 rMake build nodes (RAID0) > 4GB, dual-core systems: > 4-8 rMake build nodes (RAID0) it looks like build nodes would scale independently of the servers, weak build nodes could be scaled by just having more of them. (convert desktops overnight :-) do buildnodes need to run a conary OS or would it be enough to run them chroot style inside any linux OS? greetings, martin. -- cooperative communication with sTeam - caudium, pike, roxen and unix searching contract jobs: programming, training and administration - anywhere -- pike programmer working in china community.gotpike.org foresight developer (open-steam|caudium).org foresightlinux.org unix sysadmin iaeste.at realss.com Martin Bähr http://www.iaeste.or.at/~mbaehr/ is.schon.org _______________________________________________ Foresight-devel mailing list Foresight-devel@lists.rpath.org http://lists.rpath.org/mailman/listinfo/foresight-devel
