When browsing through the forum, I found this snippet which nicely illustrates the legitimacy of the concerns that Og voiced on IRC: "It doesn't matter which distro will I use. What matters is that I need help and I was asking for one on this forum. 151 views of this post and nobody wants to help. I'm sure Foresight is nice distro, but this forum sucks."[1] The poster in question was attempting to use Foresight Kids, which, (as far as I know) is in an unmaintained state. As such, his expectations appeared to be that: a) Foresight Kids is a supported respin b) Forums are monitored These expectations were obviously not met, which means we failed in our communication. We need to communicate clearly what versions of FL are maintained and what kind of support users can expect for FL when asking questions on the forum (i.e. user-to-user and best-effort on the part of the Foresight maintainers). I'll take a look at the stickies to see if they need an update. As Stephanie has graciously offered to maintain the forum, let's back her up by monitoring at least the Questions and Answers boards and the Developer boards. Please check out #IT-108[2] for the ways this can be currently be accomplished. /ermo [1]: http://forum.foresightlinux.org/index.php?topic=745.msg2898#msg2898 [2]: http://issues.foresightlinux.org/browse/IT-108 _______________________________________________ Foresight-devel mailing list Foresight-devel@lists.rpath.org http://lists.rpath.org/mailman/listinfo/foresight-devel
