Just for the record:
We investigated the problem reported by Roman Schmied. To our
knowledge it seems to be a problem involving gcc3.3 and/or OS X 10.4.1
If you are using GAP on a Macintosh under OS X 10.4 (Tiger) we
recommend that you update to the current version 10.4.2 (using
`Software Update' in the Apple-Menu) and use gcc4 (which comes as
part of XCode 2)
