As I've said before I carry PSPad on my USB stick along with Filezilla Portable, Firefox Portable and Xammplite.
Slighty off topic but you may want to have a look at www.sysinternals.com Dave as they have some great software that will run off USB. The main two I cary are Startup and Process Explorer. The first shows every file that gets run at start up, including dlls.
