hankejh: -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Let's be reasonable here-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Sounds like a refreshing change of pace.hankejh: -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- the overwhelming majority of features in any modern application go largely unused by most users.-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- That doesn't change the fact that those features were implemented based on user feedback and management analysis. MS Word has a ton of features geared specifically toward the legal profession. (Which were included to capture that market from Word Perfect, which owned it for years.) To the extent that "the overwhelming majority" of Word users are not in or involved with the legal profession, then your statement holds true. Does that make it a bad idea for MS to include those features in Word? Somebody in Redmond doesn't seem to think so.hankejh: -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I merely stated that I believe it is not an "absolute necessity."-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Oh, I see. So, we're having a discussion of *semantics.*. Well, as long as it's all about semantics, I never said code folding was an "absolute necessity". I said, "code folding is absolutely essential for any decent code editor." Kind of like air conditioning is absolutely essential for any decent automobile. Can you still drive a car in the heat of summer even though it doesn't have AC? Sure. But would you want to?! hankejh: -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Frankly, if you are so dependent on it, use a "better" editor.-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Oh, I see. So I should like it the way it is or use something else. Nevermind making it better. Man, you must build some great software! Thank goodness Jan doesn't build software that way or PSPad would still be at version 1.0.
