Code folding is not only for functions but also for very long and big IFs and SWITCHes.
Moreover, code folding will enable you to copy the whole function or whole block which have been folded into 2 lines rather than selecting N number of lines. And furthermore, I would like to point out that the code explorer does not automatically update when there are changes in the code. Try writing a few lines in a function then click a different function in the code explorer and it will bring you to a different location in the code.
