First off, I want to thank Jan Fiala for developing such a fine editor. My main use is editing Cisco configuration text files and I have created a custom Cisco.ini for syntax highlighting. I also love the text difference feature and the block copy. Many kudos Jan. :)
I, too, have seen the problem of memory hog. On one system, system "A", when I open PSPAD with an emtpy file, PSPAD process is using 11,880K, minimize and it goes down to < 1,000K. Bring it back up on top and it grabs about 3,000K. On a different system, System "B", I just recently installed the same version of PSPAD, 4.5.3 (2298), copied over the other systems A PSPAD.INI and my Cisco.ini syntax file. On system B, starting up PSPAD with an empty files chews up 87,176K of memory. Minimize, it goes to < 1,000K, a restore brings it back up to about 3,000K. System A and B are both XP SP3 but that is where the similarities end. They are on separate domains with different Group Policies, anti-virus, etc. Any clues? :-/ -- <http://forum.pspad.com/read.php?2,46491,46882> PSPad freeware editor http://www.pspad.com
