System A) - it's standard system behavior. If you minimize application, system save it's memory to swap file and only necessary part stay in RAM. After you restore it and you will use it, system moves memory from swap to operating memory back. Try with other applications and select Virtual memory column in your Task manager.
System B) 87MB is really too big. E.g. Spell check can be active o scripting suport can be active or something else.
