Jan, sorry to bother you again with a "slow start" topic. I've seen some threads about that here, but none covered my findings:
When I start PsPad (4.5.4(2356)) for the first time (with or without a file) it shows up but freezes for over 10 sec. Using SysInternals' Process Monitor I've discovered what causes the delay: In the registry HKCR\CLSID in enumerated and for every CLSID found the HKCU\Software\Classes\CLSID\... are scanned too. My registry currently has over 10800 CLSID entries, so scanning them takes over 13 sec! Do you have any idea what causes this process, maybe scripting? However recompiling my scripts (and a have plenty) is pretty fast. Of course PsPad is still my favorite text editor, find/replace in files utility, and so on. Many thanks for that!
