Since I have used the FTP feature very much during the last few years, something like this would be a cool impreovemen, but I suspect that PSEdit will need to write some temporary file on Windows anyway, sooner or later.
So here's another idea: Could any illegal char be converted to its %-notation, e.g. ":" to "%3A", so that the file Alex mentioned would be named "log.2015.12.06_00%3A11.txt" - *on Windows* - and converted back when send via ftp?
