Subject: RE: [t13] Long ATA cables

I'd like to do a quick reflector poll on a specific error handling case.

When a "Set Features" command is sent to an ATA drive and returns an error
code, is there ever a reason to do (or not do) a soft reset on the drive
before other commands are allowed by the drive? If a drive doesn't process
further commands, is this a "Bad Drive" or is this a "Bad Host" scenario for
not sending the soft reset?

Thanks, Michael K. Eschmann
