Ok, ok, so I cloned someones mail! but the question still stands... -----Original Message----- From: Eschmann, Michael K [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] Sent: Sunday, December 09, 2001 12:25 PM To: '[EMAIL PROTECTED]' Subject: RE: [t13] Long ATA cables This message is from the T13 list server. I'd like to do a quick reflector poll on a specific error handling case. When a "Set Features" command is sent to an ATA drive and returns an error code, is there ever a reason to do (or not do) a soft reset on the drive before other commands are allowed by the drive? If a drive doesn't process further commands, is this a "Bad Drive" or is this a "Bad Host" scenario for not sending the soft reset? Thanks, Michael K.
