My guess is they work because (good grief, could this be true?)
that the Windows CD applications and OS device drivers for CD
devices understand that the current commaand (the current SCSI
CDB) tells them how much data will be transferred by the command
and they set up their I/O buffers and the DMA data transfer
hardware appropriately?
