Hi Mike,

There is difference between "drive starvation" and deadlock bus-hangs.
The point I failed to make is given that arbitrary cdr-rw engine
design/firmware, many of these come in w/ Ultra Mode 1 and just jam the
works.  The best example was a Yamaha/HP/Ricoh core which choked dead.
You could dead-lock those on reading only and the host goes totally south
because the devices go further south.

I never wasted the time to include them, because they were off the market
so fast you could hardly blink.
