No, there never was a published "standard" for the R/W LONG command
protocol. Not in CAM ATA, not in ATA-x. The big problem was always
the effect of SET FEATURES on R/W LONG and how those extra ECC bytes
were transferred. None of this was clearly stated and many possible
implementations could claim "compliance".
