I want to interject something minor, it is not the 'Serial ATA folks trying to define yet another "SCSI like" interface'. It is actually the SCSI folks defining a Serial ATA like physical interface. Small point, but it changes where the push is coming from. -----Original Message----- From: Hale Landis [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] Sent: Monday, April 29, 2002 6:41 AM To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: Re: [t13] RE: Serial Attached SCSI - proposed working draft This message is from the T13 list server. I think you figured it out Pat! Yes, it sure looks like the Serial ATA folks are trying to define yet another "SCSI like" interface, much the same thing that the original ATAPI developers tried to do. And we all know how much trouble that has caused for everyone. I sure hope we don't go down that path again. If we do I would expect yet another 12+ month effort by T13 to figure out and document how a entirely new set of command protocols operate. *** Hale Landis *** www.ata-atapi.com ***
