I have posted a new rev of e01138 to the web site. The Serial ATA II group was planning to use one of the identify words we allocated to their use to implement non-512 byte sectors, for RAID applications. Instead, since I was already proposing long physical sectors, I agreed to add the ability to do non-512 byte logical sectors to my proposal. I have included a table showing which commands transfer other than 512 bytes, which always transfer 512 bytes, and which commands are not supported. I propose to make the list as restrictive as practical given the fact that non-512 byte sectors are not backward compatible. I included only the extended read and write commands, for example.
