Many are using HPA. Many to the point that if you look at the minutes from the
last T13 meeting we are likely to revise PARTIES to PARTIES-2 for the reasons
specified in the minutes.. Phoenix Tech has taken the lead to do this and will
hopefully have a preliminary in December meetings.
I can't answer your other questions though. I don't know if anyone leaves an area
for others to use or if changing it would void a system warranty.

I'm curious...
Is anyone using the Host Protected Area feature?
If it is used, does the software implementation follow the PARTIES
document?
Are the people using the HPA leaving any unallocated space in the HPA
so that other software can be installed there?
Does changing the contents of the HPA void the computer's warranty?
