Jim, I probably should have given some background with this. T13 is a Technical Committee of INCITS. They are our "parent" committee. INCITS creates Technical Committees, appoints their chairmen, and approves the work of the Technical Committee before it is forwarded to ANSI for publication. They also take care of a lot of paperwork for us. So to try to answer your questions. 1. No, you don't have to be an INCITS member to be a T13 member although I would guess that all of the INCITS members are also members of some Technical Committee. Remember that INCITS Technical Committees cover a wide variety of technologies. Technical Committee members tend to just be members of the ones for which they have interest. 2. For T13 the only dues you owe are the ones for T13 ($800) unless Seagate would like to join the parent committee. 3. I think the period for last years dues just ended so essentially everyone is re-upping. Hope this helps. Pete: For those of us who did not know a reorganization was being planned..... Could you please answer a few questions ? 1) Does this mean that to be a voting member of T13, an entity must ALSO be a member of INCITS ? 2) What does this mean for existing T13 members: Do we owe new dues, and that past dues paid are not relevant ? 3) If a company was previously an INCITS member, does the old membership transfer, or does everyone have to join new again ?
