[t13] SMART question

I have been looking at section 6.53.5.8.1, table 50 of D1532v1r4 and have some questions.  Data collection value 03h appears to have been added as a result of the incorporation of e01139r2, a proposal from Maxtor to enable selective self test.  The meaning of the 03 status return seems to be explained fairly well described in 6.53.4.8.7.  My question is as follows:   1. There is no 83h value defined.  I would like to know why 2. Although the table lists values with bit 7 on and off, I have not been able to find a description of bit 7 anywhere.  Does bit 7 actually have meaning.   I have SFF-8035 that documents SMART as of 1996...   ------------------------------------------------ Curtis E.
