A procedural question. If we vote to renew a standard now, can we vote early to withdraw it later?

I ask because there was some interest in PARTIES for use in SAT, but it was deferred to SAT-2 and that project won't be picking up until SAT-1 is done. So, if we chose to hold the standard now and then SAT doesn't want it (and assuming we held it over only because of that), could we then vote to withdraw it?

Subject: [t13] T13 2006 5 year Renew/Withdraw Decisions

Dear T13 Reflector Members:

The renewal or withdrawal of these standards/technical reports will be voted on
at the meeting next week. Since they require a 2/3 vote I plan to discuss them
Tuesday morning.

Protected Area Run Time Interface Extension Services (PARTIES)
BIOS Enhanced Disk Drive Services (EDD)
Address Offset Reserved Area Boot Method Technical Report

They have been added to the r3 agenda. Since we must make our recommendation by
the end of March we can not defer this discussion.

Best Regards,
Daniel J. Colegrove
