The warning had nothing to do with Mai Ly. Rather, Mr. McLain, whose
computer has probably been infected by this virus, was warning us that the
virus has been sent to this list, under the subject line "Homepage".
The stated rules of this list ask that users not give virus warnings to the
list, claiming that most virus warnings are hoaxes.
This is not a hoax.
There appears to be no harm opening the *mail*, but don't click on the
attachment and don't leave the attachment on your system.
Please don't pass on circulating virus warnings, which, indeed are usually
hoaxes. And if you have reason to warn this list because of a specific,
known hazard, please be more specific and detailed, if possible, than was
Mr. McLain. Of course, I'm sure he had a lot of problems to face and I
thank him for taking the time to warn us.
