I have a copy of a beta XP release, but I haven't installed it yet. From
what I've read, this is supposed to be a much more stable version of
Windows, whatever that really means...

Upon installing XP, I'll let you know if there are any problems with it and
Protel.

Subject: [PEDA] Windows XP vs Protel

I just saw an announcement about Windoze XP being released soon,
apparently
an attempt to merge the diverging tracks of the "game" versions and the
"professional" versions. Does anybody on the list know anything which
they
can talk about as to whether this supports Protel well? I'm pretty tired
of
all the crashes under 95 and 98, but I have too much legacy code and
hardware
to jump to NT, although I own a legitimate copy of NT 4.0. Early rumors
were
that Win ME didn't handle Protel well, so I haven't gone exploring in
that
arena.
