Obviously, it was selected. As Mr. Harland pointed out, sometimes it is 
less than obvious that an object has been selected. I'm about as certain as 
I can get that, had Mr. Stevens double-clicked on the annotation box, he 
would have seen that selection was checked. Also, had he attempted to copy 
it to the clipboard, it would have copied.

When it is hard to select an object, sometimes a quick way to do it is to 
edit the object and check selection. If it is hard to pop up an edit dialog 
for the object, which can sometimes occur when parts overlap (and schematic 
symbols have rectangular extents even if the part is like an op amp and has 
lots of empty space around it), then the panel can be used to pop up the 
object for edit: Browse Schematic/Primitives/All/[filter for the text]/Edit.
