I might be able to help you. As of this very minute, however, literally,
the Protel price went up, which should also bump up the value of resold
licenses. If you had ordered one from me two weeks ago, I could have gotten
it for you for $4500. Now, I'm not sure.
(5 PM Friday was the deadline to buy 99SE at $5995 from Protel. The price
is now $7995.)
(There is no higher version than Protel 99 except 99SE, but SE was a free
upgrade from 99, so it's basically the same.)
Buying *any* license can be worthwhile; in fact, if you could find an old
Autotrax license for cheap, the upgrade would be cheap enough to save quite
a bit over full regular price. But it is hard to find these, and upgrades
just went up, too.
The good news -- I hope -- is that 99SE bought at the new higher price may
include free upgrade to Protel 2001, which would otherwise be $995.
Too bad you did not ask a little earlier. Even this morning might not have
been too late!!!
I have one license available for sale, but the price has not been set. It
will definitely be less expensive than buying directly from Protel. There
is also one older license which might still be available, I could look into it.
