Ken - the problem sounds quite strange, nothing obvious to me. A couple ideas:
-- when you edit one of the invisible items, is the "hidden" attribute checked? If so,
you could try a global change to unhide them.
-- is it only one ddb that is affected? If all ddbs are affected, you might consider
(a) reinstalling; or (b) installing SP6 (this would be good to do in any case).

Hi
I hope someone can help fix my problem. After creating a PCB and finishing
it, I found that many design objects were not displaying. None apparently on
the board proper, all on the drawing. When viewing the PCB, I can see the
PCB and a few text strings. Moving the cursor around as it floats over the
drawing template and string objects, they are shown in the status bar. I can
double click them and edit them. I can also create previews and all drawing
object appear in the previews.
I've tried changing the visibility flags and layer colors in effort to get
these objects to reappear. I tried "fixing" the database. That didn't work
either.
Oh, and BTW, when I reopened the database protel se sp5 complained that no
boards of type pcb were found.
