hello everybody, some good news 4 all of us..
some weeks back we (IOE FOSS Community) had conducted a FOSS awareness presentation in Brihaspati Vidya Sadan, Naxal. But it turned out that the Academic coordinator of the school Mr. Pravin Joshi is a computer whiz himself n they already had linux running (through LTSP; distro - edubuntu to be specific) in their lab. he told us that after the presentation the students were really interested on havin linux installed on their machine.. but the problem was nobody actually suceeded in installation.. another development is that pravin sir wants to switch all the machines in his computer lab to linux. n he wants FOSS Nepal's assistance on this. now since the students r also havin trouble in linux installation n we at FOSS Nepal have all been wantin to do this - lets have an install-fest!! it'll be beneficial to all - we'll have the install fest, the students will learn the installation process n eventually the lab will be in linux too.. we've also fixed a tentative date for install-fest - 28th July Saturday. the school is expecting 40 participants, 20 from school's side, 20 from FOSS Nepal. so what r ur thoughts on this?? shall we have a meeting?? i propose monday evening. i guess all the bachelors' level exams will be over by that day.. but lets start discussing here how to conduct the program.. which distro to put, program format n stuffs like that.. regards, jwalanta. --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ FOSS Nepal mailing list [email protected] http://groups.google.com/group/foss-nepal Community website: http://www.fossnepal.org/ -~----------~----~----~----~------~----~------~--~---
