The step forward by Brihaspati is really good definitely and we at FOSS Community Nepal and IOE FOSS Community would really like to thank Prabin Dai for that. From our initial survey of the lab at the brihaspati we found the scenario there to be something like this. 1. We will be using the brihaspati's existing computer lab for the install-fest, which Prabin Dai wants to transform into a Linux (Ubuntu) based lab 2. The computers there dont have CDROMs so we will be using 1 or 2 network servers to install ubuntu through netboot available in Ubuntu's install CDs 3. The lab is pretty set as far as networking is concerned they have been using it for internet and occasional sprints of LTSP . So netboot is the best option. 4. Probably setting up one DHCP server and 2 apache server will be a better option as it will provide us with a better bandwidth to serve the machine in which we will be installing Ubuntu.
Subir Dai, it is really upto us to finalize the date but we wanted do it as early as possible as new term starts there in Brihaspati from next week, so we didnt want to do it late, as Pravin dai needs the lab ready for his class lab sessions too. But we can sit and discuss about how to go forward and when do it dai, please let us know. lets make it FOSSible On 7/19/07, Bikram Shrestha <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > > Great decision on behalf of Pravin da and Brihaspati.
