One reason I believe why DELL wouldn't do that is because DELL is not only a 
consumer PC company. It also supplies OEM systems to large corporations where 
they care absolutely nothing whether an OS is Open source or Propreitary. I 
believe in short, these large companies have better things to do than to care 
whether it's free or non-free. Added to it are people who do not have time to 
read man pages and are asked to submit stuffs "YESTERDAY". 

This added heat makes competition healthier. A good sign I believe in making 
Linux even more better than them. ;)

I do not think Linux will become main player tomorrow. It'll be more like it'll 
continue to increase but very slowly compared to other major OSes but GROW IT 
WILL.
