Well
I'm really not worried about my data, ( btw, I unmounted my pendrive
well... (if not so, then how could be a lists of file clearly named
with 0 bytes??) amazing). If i could have hated OSS then why am i
still trying it.. I'm not such kinda sick. Last night i waked up whole
night Downloading kubuntu-kde4 and started hanging on it. Discovered
many good softwares like Dolphin.. Today I've installed another one
not for Dolphin, but i got many changes with kde4 the thing is there
is no DESKTOP. I don't know if i can #cd /home/$user_name/Desktop or
what? What will be next thing with Linux base standard... anyway that
ISO was for trail version.. might be a newer version could have
something we supposed to have. I think Linux got a lot to standardize.
Still not enough. I've given out some hardware (webcams, some ethernet
cards etc), believing that there will be a solution with OSS in next
some months. Years been passed got nothing. During last SFD we talked
Linux for Desktop. I installed Linux (debian 4.0rc1) to some of my
friends (7 of my friends). Debian got the listing of driver for
lbp2900, Hp1020. I tried for days later from internet someone posted
that "I made a mistake buying lbp2900". Printer was actually working
with windows. It's a kind of fault from Canon or HP , not providing
driver with device. But what to do with those users. I got no answers
finally i uninstalled Linux from two of my friend with those printer.
I'm not to say we need fancy graphics but the point is, Douglas
Engelbart in 1964 thought some uses of mouse for these days. Firefox
can't be run though console. I like to prompt command. But what about
those new comers. It's not for me completely. It's for those who is
touching Linux today. What about their feelings. I'm dreaming NewYork
times publishing " Linux users +85%".Actually i was posting this
message on Fossnepal to discuss but unluckily with tension i posted
this on OLPC. I'm sorry for this. Linux is not a problem, neither the
device is, nor the user but the problem is time..........
