The language pack for GNU/Linux distributions like Debian, Ubuntu,
Fedora, openSUSE can be found here:

http://nepalinux.org/downloads/nepali-langpack-1.0.tar.gz

It contains Nepali translations (.mo files) for GNOME, Nepali fonts,
Nepali locale, Nepali keyboard layout, etc. But the translations are
quite old and are yet to be updated online although we've already
submitted the latest translations (.po files) for GNOME 2.20 upstream.

If you want, you can extract those stuff from that file and adjust
accordingly for other *nix variants if it's GNOME-based.

You can follow these steps for enabling Nepali spell-checking on OpenOffice.org:

* Download the Nepali dictionary (.dic) and affix (.aff) files from
http://nepalinux.org/downloads/ne_NP_dict.zip
* Extract the files ne_NP.aff and ne_NP.dic and copy them to
/opt/openoffice.org2.4/share/dict/ooo/
* Add the following line to the file
/opt/openoffice.org2.4/share/dict/ooo/dictionary.lst
DICT ne NP ne_NP
* (Re)Start OpenOffice.org and enjoy!

Instructions available for Ubuntu on http://wiki.ubuntu.org.np/UbuntuNepali

Cheers,
Subir
