Dear Sulabh,
          I apologize for replying to you so late. I was busy in stuffs.
As you've mentioned that NetworkManager is "unticked" in Add/Remove
Software, that means that it has not been installed yet or has been removed.
So you need to install it (just tick it, and click on the apply button). Now
everything should come on place. If it doesn't happen to show you the
applet, just follow the steps that I've outlined in the previous mail.
Let me know if anything still goes wrong.
