I am sorry for not updating about CICC training earlier. We, AOSS Alumni (what they-CICC says), discussed on few issues and outline of the program, Which CICC had asked as soon as i was back from Malaysia.
Let me start: On Mon, Dec 29, 2008 at 10:52 AM, Subir Pradhanang <[email protected]>wrote: > > Hi all, > > Apologies for hastily calling for the meeting the other day. Upcoming FOSS Training with CICC > Update from Prabin and Subir - Dates to be confirmed, but most > probably in the first week of February. We have been discussing actively about the possible ideas, alliances, participants and mode of training for this time. From our discussions we have come to following pre-conclusion for the 2 day training to be conducted in First week of February, 2009. - Topic or Theme for the FOSS Essentials Training - *FOSS Alternative for Enterprise Solutions* - Participants - Having had previously targeted students for basic OSS training, this time we wish to target a mixed group of participants who can benefit from the alternatives for Enterprise, Business and Commercial alternatives over Proprietary Softwares. We want to include participants ranging from business house to students from Business background, so that we can diversity FOSS in a group other than core Linux and OSS users. This could be amoung our first initiative to foray into the commercial Software realm. - Possible Partners - CICC, FOSS Nepal, High Level Commission of IT, Brihaspati Vidya Sadan School for Venue, Republica as Print Partner and either Sagarmatha or ABC as Media Partner - Since we have 23 computer in our newly established lab, we can manage 23 - 24 participants for this training comfortably. We are still to work on the intricate details of the training but this is the outline that we would like to present/propose for the training. Therefore I call Upon us to be in a team to prepare curriculum and organize the progam. Lets make this a huge success. More on this: CICC representative, Mr. Yamamoto will be here on 7th Jan,2009 to discuss on curriculum and see the training center. Therefore we need to prepare and finalize the curriculum for the FOSS Essential Training Program before he arrives. Thus I want to propose the *coming saturday *as the meeting date for curriculum preparation / finalization. I am creating a new thread to discuss on the curriculum. lets all participate there regarding curriculum for Upcoming FOSS Essential training. Subir dai, please finalize the venue and time.. meeting on saturday is favourable for KU guys also. > > > 4.
