Thank you Frederik, I will let you know how it works and how successful I will be in my work.
I have got few more places where I am stuck with my notebook. I can reduce the sound or the volume the music playing just by using the Fn (function key) and the volume button in the keypad by pressing both at the same time. But, when I use the same function key and the brightness button to lower it, I can lower it just one step down and so the brightness is full in my computer. Next time, when I press it again to further lower the brightness, beside going down it goes up and the brightness increases. I cannot lower the brightness of my laptop and that keeps on putting lots of strain on my eye with spectacles. One of my friend has also installed the Ubuntu with the same bootable CD I have and from where I have installed the Ubuntu. His computer is Toshiba. In his computer, he can use it to lower the brightness. So, what might be the problem with these two things. Can you please kindly let me know to your ease? Looking forward to your all support. Regards, Rajesh I AM SO GRATEFUL TO THE WAY, YOU HAVE HELPED ME IN LAN SETTING. I will do my lan setting in my university tomorrow and will soon let you know.
